Heighington is located 3 miles south east of Lincoln.
Please use the postcode LN4 1RQ if arriving by taxi
On a Sunday, the number 2 bus (Lincoln-Branston) runs through the village. Please check times on the Stagecoach website. The bus stops for both directions are located in the village centre.
Please note our diversion route (in green) and road closure (in red) on the map below.
Parking will be available for free – this will be located at Branston Academy a mile away. Parking assistance will be provided once again by the Scouts of Washingborough – please follow their instructions. The route is an easy walk downhill to the market which will be sign posted; however, Stagecoach East Midlands have very kindly offered the use of their number 2 bus for free to those parking at Branston. There are 3 services each way during market opening and you will require a ticket which will be handed out by the scouts. We appreciate this is not a perfect solution but we are a small village with limited space to park cars en-mass. We are hoping to find extra help for shuttle runs and if this is available it will be signed at the parking area. Bus times are:
Towards the market;11.26, 13.26, 15.26
Away from the market: 11.15, 13.15, 15.15
A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available at the market – please contact us for details.
You are welcome of course to park closer to the action – Should you choose not to park in the designated parking area, please be respectful of our neighbors. DO NOT obstruct driveways, double park (as the roads are narrow in places and the bus has to get by), park in the way of a bus stop or park dangerously. The bus route travels up Station Rd/Merrycock Lane, both of which are very narrow – there is to be no parking anywhere along these roads. Thank you for your help with this.
There are currently roadworks in Washingborough/Heighington. The main road between Heighington and Canwick will be closed (Heighington Rd) as will the original diversion for this route, Church Hill. A further diversion will be in place up Pitts Rd. If approaching from Lincoln we recommend heading to Branston and using our parking, however you can approach via Washingborough, just follow their diversion signs and then our parking signs.
